Kentucky tight ends coach Vince Marrow has been given a $100,000 raise and the title of ‘recruiting coordinator’, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported over the weekend.
Marrow’s new contract runs through June of 2016 and will pay him an annual salary of $275,00.
Kentucky might find that total to be a bargain, given how Marrow’s prowess as a recruiter is apparently paying off of late. The Wildcats’ current recruiting class under Mark Stoops is rated 13th nationally by Rivals.com, a remarkable performance for a program coming off a 2-10 season.
Marrow is particularly adept at recruiting in his native Ohio, from where 11 of Kentucky’s current commitments hail. Keeping Marrow happy by paying him more and giving him a new title ensures that pipeline will continue.
