Report: Louisville also an option for ex-USC QB

As it turns out, Texas won’t be the lone option for an erstwhile USC quarterback. Reportedly.

Multiple media outlets reported in the midst of National Signing Day Wednesday that Max Wittek will be taking a visit to the Longhorns in the near future. Additionally, ESPN.com‘s Joe Schad subsequently reported, Louisville is also one of what was described as “multiple options” for the player.

Another option, Schad noted, is Hawaii.

As Wittek will graduate this spring, he will be eligible to play immediately at any FBS program and maintain two years of eligibility. The Cardinals will be looking for a replacement for Teddy Bridgewater, with Will Gardner serving as the presumptive heir apparent. As a redshirt freshman in 2013, Gardner was Bridgewater’s primary backup.

Wittek was a four-star member of the Trojans’ 2011 recruiting class, rated as the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the country. Late last month, Wittek announced he would be transferring from USC.
