Rob Moore leaving Syracuse to reunite with Marrone

The mini-exodus of college assistants leaving for the NFL shortly after National Signing Day continues, with Syracuse the latest to feel the brunt of a hiring by the big-boy league.

The Buffalo Bills announced Thursday morning that Rob Moore has been hired as the club’s wide receivers coach. Moore had spent the past three seasons in the same capacity with the Orange.

The job with the Bills will mark his first stint as a coach at the NFL level.

Moore, who played at Syracuse from 1987-1990 and is the program’s all-time leading receiver, will be reunited with his former boss in Buffalo. Prior to being named as the Bills’ head coach in January of 2013, Doug Marrone held the same title with the Orange for four years.

It was Marrone that gave Moore his first coaching job at the FBS level.
