Pitt’s Bobby Engram latest to bolt for NFL job

Bobby Engram

For the second consecutive morning, we’ll begin the day with news that an assistant at the FBS level has left for the same position at the NFL level.

First reported by and subsequently confirmed by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Bobby Engram has decided to leave Pittsburgh to take a job with the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens.  Engram has been the Panthers’ wide receivers coach the past two seasons, and will serve in the same capacity with the Ravens.

An official announcement from either side could come as early as today.

If/when the move becomes official, Engram, who was an All-American receiver at Penn State, would become the second FBS assistant in as many days poached by the Ravens.  Yesterday, it was confirmed that running backs coach Thomas Hammock was leaving Wisconsin to take the same job with the NFL club.

This guy did a helluva job with freshman WR Tyler Boyd. Good luck with the Ravens, coach.

With all the nonsense that coaches have to endure on the recruiting trail, it’s no wonder they hop on NFL jobs. That and you get to coach at the highest level.
