Former UNT WR breaks out in Sochi… literally

Johnny Quinn

Somewhere, I just know our Little Ben is beaming with pride.  Or something.

Former North Texas wide receiver Johnny Quinn qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi (on NBC) as a pusher for one of the United States’ two four-man bobsled team.  Much has been made about the “facilities” in the Russian city; Quinn himself discovered firsthand just how finicky those “facilities” can be.

On his Twitter account very early Saturday, Quinn recounted his “harrowing” bathroom experience — and included a photo that would make Chuck Norris or Jack Bauer swell with American pride:

U-S-A!!!  U-S-A!!!  U-S-A!!!

Quinn played for the Mean Green in the middle of last decade, and still, per UNT, ranks first in school history with 2,718 career receiving yards and third with 3,835 all-purpose yards. He led the team in receiving four straight seasons and is second all-time with 187 career receptions.

Normal and completely reasonable response to being locked in a Russian bathroom.

Could it be a tactic to delay him getting to prelims or could it be a retaliation tactic for one of our snowboarders winning the Gold in the slope style this morning?…. ;-)

    Just kidding….

But seriously, there has been a lot of issues with doors and toilets for some reason…

More evidence that going with the lowest bidder isn’t always the best choice.

Aren’t the hinges on his side of the door? He could’ve just popped the pins. If the lock jammed the hinges are probably cheap, too.

    Looks like a rock band’s hotel room….

Did he know that the door was to be pulled towards him not pushed away from him?
