Florida OL’s career is over after shoulder surgery

Florida offensive lineman Octavius Jackson is calling it a career after undergoing surgery in January on a chronically injured shoulder, the Gainesville Sun reported on Monday.

Jackson redshirted this season but was bothered by a shoulder injury originally suffered when he was in high school.

The former 3-star recruit from Moultrie, Ga., will seek a medical hardship, which will allow him to remain on scholarship while not counting against the NCAA team limit of 85.
