Report: Oregon State OL coach Mike Cavanaugh a strong candidate for Oklahoma State OL job

CoachingSearch.com is reporting on Tuesday that Oregon State offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh is a ‘strong candidate’ to take the same position at Oklahoma State.

The veteran line coach has long been a hot property in the Pac-12, but he has withstood all attempts to lure him away from Corvallis, at least up until now. He’s been on Mike Riley’s staff for nine years and is one of the longest-serving assistant coaches in the league.

Oklahoma State would be an interesting opportunity for Cavanaugh. The Cowboys have done a good job attracting quality offensive talent of late and their program seems to be in a place where it can consistently compete for Big 12 titles. That’s something Cavanaugh can’t get at his current gig.

Whatever the case, there’s a pretty good chance he’ll be coaching for one of the OSUs next fall.
