After Charlie Strong‘s departure, Sherrone Moore didn’t follow the head coach to Texas. Strong’s replacement at Louisville, Bobby Petrino, didn’t retain Moore either.
Finally, however, the assistant has landed on his coaching feet as Central Michigan announced Moore’s hiring as tight ends coach. Moore replaces Butch Barry, who remains on the Chips’ coaching staff but has moved over to coach the offensive line.
“Sherrone was a part of one of the top staffs in the country during his time at Louisville and I feel extremely fortunate that we were able to add him to our staff,” CMU head coach Dan Enos said in a statement. “As both a coach and a player, he has great experience at both tight end and on the offensive line. He is a great teacher who brought out the best in his players while at Louisville.”
Moore, who played his college football at Oklahoma, spent five seasons with the Cardinals. His first three years at the UofL was as a grad assistant, his last two as tight ends coach.
