Report: Nick Sheridan joining Vols staff

A coaching journey for a former Michigan quarterback that began in the SBC will continue on in the SEC if one report comes to fruition.

CoachingSearch.com reported Tuesday morning that Nick Sheridan has accepted an offer to join the extended coaching staff at Tennessee. Specifically, the 25-year-old Sheridan will serve as an offensive grad assistant.

Last season, Sheridan worked as Willie Taggart‘s quarterbacks coach and passing-game coordinator at USF.

Sheridan played quarterback at Michigan from 2006-09 and graduated from UM in 2010 before embarking on his coaching career at the high school level as quarterbacks coach. After just one season at his alma mater – Saline High School in Saline, Mich. — Sheridan joined Taggart at Western Kentucky in the spring of 2011 as an offensive grad assistant. He was promoted to quarterbacks coach and passing-game coordinator a year later before reuniting with Taggart at USF in December of 2012.
