Colorado player tasered, arrested and suspended after allegedly choking woman

Colorado has indefinitely suspended sophomore defensive back Jeffery Hall following an arrest from the weekend. Hall was arrested Saturday on suspicion of second-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, obstruction and possession of alcohol by a minor. According to various reports, Hall was witnessed choking a woman at a party and police had to use a taser to make the arrest.

Daily Camera in Boulder, Colorado reports the university has suspended Hall indefinitely by head coach Mike MacIntyre (who just had his contract extended by one year). Police reports say a woman came out of a garage as police arrived to check out a complaint about a loud party. The woman claimed Hall attempted to choke her. As police arrived, Hall allegedly approached and wanted to harm the woman as she was talking to police. It was at this point the tensions reportedly flew, leading the police to pull a taser on Hall to get him to sit down. Another Colorado football player, defensive back Chidobe Awuzie, was with Hall and attempted to restrain Hall as well.

Hall was booked and released at a county jail. Charges were expected to be filed Wednesday.

Awuzie was not arrested or charged for any wrongdoing by police.
