Pair of Ole Miss starters granted medical hardship waivers

Defensive end C.J. Johnson and guard Aaron Morris, starters on both sides Ole Miss’ lines, will see their collegiate playing careers extended out another season, the Rebels announced Wednesday.

Both players were granted medical hardship waivers by the NCAA recently, meaning another season of eligibility has been tacked on beyond 2014.

Johnson aggravated a leg injury in a Sept. 28 loss against Alabama and did not play again in 2013, leading to another season of eligibility for 2015. In 2012, the lineman led the Rebels with 6.5 sacks.

Morris, who started every game at guard in 2012 as a sophomore after starting six games in 2011, tore an ACL in the season-opening win over Vanderbilt last year.
