According to the Spokane Spokesman-Review, cornerback Daquawn Brown was arrested Friday on a pair of charges following an on-campus incident the previous weekend.  The two charges Brown is facing are felony second-degree assault and misdemeanor assault.

While details of the incident are unavailable, police allege that Brown struck a male and a female during an argument.  The fact that the incident involves violence against a woman could trigger a dismissal from the football program.  From the Spokesman-Review:

Brown’s alleged assault violates Mike Leach’s rule against hitting women, one of three rules the coach says a violation of which would be cause for immediate dismissal. The others are stealing and drug use.

The school has yet to comment on the incident involving Brown, who was released from jail Monday after posting a bond.

Brown played in every game as a true freshman in 2013, starting four of those contests.  He is one of only two players returning to the Cougars in 2014 who have starting experience in the defensive backfield.

Kick him out of school, and the Univ will not have to worry about future problems with this non-student.

The student-athlete must be allowed to defend himself. In this country, you are innocent until proven guilty. He could have been assaulted by the couple and was defending himself. Again, maybe not. Some tough women can be visious with their high heels and nails. Must look at the evidence for mitigating and/or aggravating circumstances.

Why is hitting a woman treated differently than a man? We are all equal under the law

Only in the Pac. Why isn’t their 67 posts on here condemning that league? Oh yea, they don’t win titles.
