According to the Spokane Spokesman-Review, cornerback Daquawn Brown was arrested Friday on a pair of charges following an on-campus incident the previous weekend. The two charges Brown is facing are felony second-degree assault and misdemeanor assault.
While details of the incident are unavailable, police allege that Brown struck a male and a female during an argument. The fact that the incident involves violence against a woman could trigger a dismissal from the football program. From the Spokesman-Review:
The school has yet to comment on the incident involving Brown, who was released from jail Monday after posting a bond.
Brown played in every game as a true freshman in 2013, starting four of those contests. He is one of only two players returning to the Cougars in 2014 who have starting experience in the defensive backfield.
