Cyclones dismiss projected starter at DT

That sound you may have heard this afternoon was a sizable hole opening up in the middle of Iowa State’s defensive line.

On Twitter earlier in the day, Rodney Coe revealed that he has been dismissed from the Cyclones football program.  An ISU official confirmed that the 6-3, 305-pound defensive tackle was given the boot for violating unspecified team rules.

Coe wrote that he wanted to “[l]et everyone know I wasn’t dismissed for drugs, alcohol or anything serious of that nature!”  He added a lengthy goodbye on his Twitter account as well.

After starting the final four games of the 2013 season, the senior was expected fill the same role from the start this season.  Of Coe’s five tackles for loss, 4.5 came in the four games he started to finish out the year.

Don’t worry Guys he wasn’t going to get you out of the Big 12 basement anyway. You should tell the real story here though: “Coach Mangino eats Rodney Coe, and several other students missing.”
