Georgia WR Mitchell once again a victim of leg injury

Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell missed the 2013 season due to a torn ACL injury in his right leg in the season opener against Clemson. After working to get back in the mix of Georgia’s offense, his spring is now officially over thanks to yet another leg injury.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports Mitchell injured his left leg earlier this week and the injury will sideline him for the remainder of Georgia’s spring practices. He is expected to be back in time for Georgia’s training camp leading in to the 2014 season. No specifics on the injury have been shared at this time. Mitchell had been working out in a no-contact jersey, a standard practice for players coming off serious injuries, but apparently was unable to finish the practice on Tuesday.

Georgia head coach Mark Richt is expected to be available to the media later on Saturday after an evening practice. How much he expands on the injury concern remains to be seen.

Mitchell recorded 572 receiving yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore in 2012.
