Michigan reportedly interested in ex-Tide lineman

A week after it was reported he was transferring from Alabama, Chad Lindsay is reportedly garnering interest from a school quite a bit further north.

According to a tweet from CBSSports.com‘s Jeremy Fowler Sunday morning, “Michigan is currently exploring the possibility of signing” the former Tide offensive lineman. The interest is far from surprising as Lindsay had been connected to the Wolverines via message board chatter shortly after it was reported that he was leaving the Tide.

The move would make sense football-wise as the Wolverines are looking to add depth and talent to their line, and Lindsay would certainly qualify.

In place of injured starter Ryan Kelly, Lindsay started four games at center in 2013 for Nick Saban‘s Tide. A three-star member of the Tide’s 2010 recruiting class coming out of high school in The Woodlands, Tex., Lindsay was rated as the No. 30 guard in the country that year.

As Lindsay graduated in August of last year, he would be eligible to play immediately in 2014 if he transferred to Michigan or any other FBS program.
