Texas A&M held their pro day workouts today. Anybody who is anybody was there, including former president George H.W. Bush and the former first lady were on hand, in addition to seven NFL head coaches. Not surprisingly, quarterback Johnny Manziel was the headliner and star attraction. Manziel, a former Heisman Trophy winner and one of the most electric names in the sport of college football the past couple of seasons put on a show with over 60 passes being completed at various distances and scouts leaving a puddle of drool over the performance of one of the top quarterback prospects entering the 2014 NFL Draft. Just minutes after Manziel walked off the practice field, having displayed what he can do, Nike sent out a tweet reminding us all that we can suit up in the same pro day equipment Manziel wore for a morning working out in front of NFL scouts and coaches.

Read that again. Johnny Manziel Pro Day Collection. Now that is taking marketing to the next level. Who will be the next athlete to have his own pro day collection?
Earlier in the day Manziel was asked why he was wearing a football helmet for his pro day workout, because most players do not suit up with a helmet during these types of workouts. Manziel joked that helmets are worn in the NFL, but perhaps now we have a real answer to the question; because Nike had a helmet to market.
