Charlie Strong not a part of Johnny Manziel’s regime

Johnny Manziel may be moving on to the NFL, but his loyalty remains with Texas A&M. New Texas head coach Charlie Strong was the subject of a quick jab from Manziel Saturday.

On his Instagram account — which has become the bets way to follow Manziel’s social networking activity since he took a Twitter hiatus in January to focus on preparing for the NFL — Manziel posted a picture of Strong giving the regime hand symbol. This, of course, has become a common gesture for Manziel, who has done so during games a number of times following a big play.

“Sorry Charlie… you’re not a part of the regime,” Manziel said on Instagram along with a side-by-side photo comparison of the Longhorns head coach and the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Can we just put aside our differences and get Texas and Texas A&M to play once again? Please?

That was a disrespectful punk move.

Sadly, it’s expected from Manziel, true to character.

honestly, that hand gesture looks more like he’s trying to stuff his hand up some dude’s butt.

“What a disrespectful young punk! Who does this privileged rich brat think he is. Yada yada yada Draft Bust yada yada yada Didn’t deserve the Heisman yada yada Shame to College Athletes yada yada”

Enough of this already. Haters gunna hate.

Texas doesn’t have the balls to play A&M in football anymore.

Exact same situation as Univ of Washington refusing to play instate rival – and vastly better coached & run operation in men’s basketball – Gonzaga.

Charlie says Texas isn’t a gadget program, taking a shot a Kevin Sumlin’s recruiting tactics of using a helicopter to make 8 visits in different cities in a single day.

Charlie says players have to WALK a half mile to the practice field.

Charlie says no more hand signals or Hook’em Horns until you earn the right to use it.

Maybe Charlie should listen to his own advice about hand signals, because he just got owned by Johnny Manziel.

    But We’re Texas!

We have to appear hip and cool and relevant. The picture is worth a thousands words as to how far Texas has fallen as a power in it’s own state when they have to follow rather than be innovators.

Say what you will about Manziel, he is unique and has an it factor that transcends his playing the position of quarterback. You either loathe him or love him. Strong is trying to catch some of the Manziel magic.

I’ll miss Johnny Football in college mode. I sincerely hopes he makes the transition in the No Fun League.

In other news, Joe Bergeron is rumored to have left the Texas team. He was only the best RB they had.

Charlie doing it his way. At this rate, he might not have enough players to field a team when September rolls around.

Why is Johnny acting like he invented the hand gesture? He stole it. We all know the finger thing means taxes.

More odd obsession from Amos about a Big 12 school lower on the pecking order than Bama where no rivalry ties exist whatsoever. Weird. But if it helps you sleep at night.

Manziel and his team mates did the cash out celebration after big plays. It has nothing to do with taxes.

It’s laughable that Charlie Strong is doing it in order to legitimize his program. And he got called out on it.

“Cash out celebration after big plays”, or “cash out celebration after getting away with breaking NCAA rules about illegal cash payments”?

I suspect Coach Strong isn’t too concerned with membership in that particular “regime”.

that saying “Haters are going to Hate” is a cop out answer to justify a dumb decision. Is he ready for the NFL hell no, thE only reason he is going is because next year with that QB class he would rank probably 4-6. At this time he is a 4th or 5th round QB. Stop with the Russ Wilson comparison because Russ was a Pass first QB. the major highlight they show of johnny are those scrambling blind Lob passes that will get picked in a NFL game. People are delusional everybody that plays for Alabama is not NFL talent yes they have alot but not everyone gets drafted, so if your basising his greatness off of 2 games against UA your crazy. He will have his wake up call more soon than later hell even Reggie Bush got his chest caved in by the Eagles when he was coming up. If he would stay his full time in college or atleast had 3 years of playing time then maybe i would be high on him but with every team nowadays having at least one Jadaveon Clowney or better on their team i dont see him running all over the field like that. I mean grief Clowneys 40 time was faster than Manziels at least Vick ran a 4.3 and we see how his career went, playing the same way but slower i dont see it. Not to mention as well Vick had a stronger arm as well he just had some Accuracy issues and only had 1 true receiver and that was Crumpler

Considering TA&M ran away from the conference they were getting owned so hard(what was that head to head record again? Yeah, thought so.), maybe he should wait until TA&M actually accomplishes something before talking trash.

  17. goodfieldnohit says: Mar 30, 2014 7:17 PM

In the last 30 years, that head to head record was dead even. In the first 70 years, A&M was an all military university with an enrollment of about 5,000 at it’s high point. For 20 years, texas refused to play A&M in College Station.

  18. dubyad3 says: Mar 31, 2014 6:15 AM

All you A$$ To Mouth fans should check your facts. It’s the AGGIES who refuse to resume the rivalry with Texas.

Manziel is trash and the NFL will prove that.

Just fuels the fire for those who think he’s not mature enough for the NFL. But I’m sure Cleveland will love him despite all that for a couple seasons until his replacement gets drafted.

Lighten up people! Johnny Manziel is a great athlete with a great sense of humor. We at Texas wish him well. At the same time Charlie Strong is a breath of fresh air who looks to bring Texas back to contention for a National Title. Both of these guys have been good for college football. The Aggies and Longhorns will compete again somewhere down the road because it means money for both schools. That’s what today’s college football is all about. The Aggies did the right thing for them by going to the SEC. Texas did the right thing by hiring Charlie Strong. I am a Longhorn Fan who happens to like Johnny Manziel. So what! Go Horns!!!

Yet another reason I say he’s got a lot of growin up to do. Nuff said. Respectin your elders is part of life whether you like it or not L’il Johnny.

God forbid who you should be havin for those you look up to if he’s in the picture.
