Jayhawk WR Mark Thomas arrested for sexual battery

Mark Thomas

The latest incident that results in the “Days Without An Arrest” ticker being reset to double zeroes looks to be a rather serious one.

According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, Kansas’ Mark Thomas was arrested Sunday morning in connection to an aggravated sexual battery.  As of now Thomas has not been officially charged with crime, although he remains in jail with no bond set.

The school acted with swiftness in addressing the wide receiver’s situation.

“Mark Thomas has been suspended indefinitely from the football team, pending further findings in the case,” KU stated in a release.

Thomas had spent two seasons at the JUCO level before transferring to the Jayhawks last year.  He took a redshirt his first season in Lawrence.

That’s not nearly as bad as what Charlie Weis did to that Chinese buffet table.

Weis has signed a number of rather questionable character guys in his desperate bid to save his job. There may be more of these coming up.

Sexual battery, and mine is the third post. SEC team has a player arrested for pot, and the comments section explodes.

    Hypocrisy anyone?

Yeah Norm, but in this case you fail to point out the obvious trump card….Charlie Weis’s weight….which was covered in the first post. Let’s face it, when fans see a Jayhawk football article…regardless of content…it’s going to devolve to Weis’s weight immediately. Same thing goes for SEC arrests. Stereotypes can cut both ways. It’s not fair, but life ain’t fair.

Let’s not pile on Charlie, he’s already under the weather.

He threw out his back picking up a meatball.

normtide: Do you need to post truth? Have a good memory and remind all? ha. Hope you and yours are well.

I am having to stay in Appalachia longer this season since H1N1 has reared its ugly head once again with pneumonia coming quickly behind. We already have many kids in hospitals all the way to Cleveland and St. Louis.

Do you all remember it was only a few years ago that we had a countdown to the next arrest during the “off season”? You know this season has few college football stories. Teams are not playing. This is the slow news time for college football…so we hear about the arrests, or a player smoking pot, or something…Oh well.

Stay safe SP. Luckily I can say the Tennessee Valley is only suffering from the annual pollen attack.

I like to think we see more arrests because there is more media to cover it. I can still remember when the local news wouldn’t show a person being arrested’s face, only their hands lol. Hoping for your safe return in time for football season.

Back safe and sound. It has really been a challenge, but by God’s grace my extended family and I are all well and ready and prepared for another pigskin season.
