Chris Petersen scored April Fools victory on Huskies

Were you fooled yesterday? Pranks and jokes were everywhere you went yesterday, of course, and Washington head coach Chris Petersen got one over on the Washington Huskies.

Spring practices are sometimes used to show off brand new or special uniforms to players. It gets them excited and the trend of capturing the player reactions on video and sharing it through social media has caught on. Petersen used this for the set-up to his elaborate prank.

Addressing the Huskies in a morning meeting, Petersen introduced two new uniform concepts to the team that had a silly husky logo on the helmet (it actually looks similar to the UConn husky from the quick glance you get in the video), a Washington “W” on the front and “DAWGS” printed across the back of the pants. The reaction of the players was confused and less than enthusiastic, understandably once you see the uniforms yourself in the video below. But for a detail-oriented coach like Petersen, this was all to send a light-hearted message to his players.

UCF also tried pulling a uniform-related prank on fans by sharing an image of a uniform that drops the “U” from UCF and rebrands the program as Central Florida. Were there any other uniform-related pranks pulled yesterday that caught your eye?
