A promising defensive back who could’ve seen significant playing time in 2014 has decided instead to take his leave of Piscataway.
Bryant Gross-Armiento confirmed to NJ.com that he will be leaving Rutgers in order to be closer to his home in Florida. The cornerback stated his reasons for transferring are of the personal kind.
“It was more so personal reasons, if anything,” Gross-Armiento said. “I have things back home that I need to handle. I think, obviously, going back home would be in my best interest.”
While a new locale is not yet known, Gross-Armiento did say that he intends to stay at the FBS level, which, depending on his personal situation, could mean sitting out the 2014 season. Coming out of Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage High School as a three-star recruit, Gross-Armiento held no offers from any FBS programs in the state of Florida.
