Kansas State makes eight-year-old leukemia patient’s day

Kansas State’s player of the game during the 2014 spring game will not be helping the Wildcats compete for a Big 12 championship in the fall, but that does not matter to eight-year-old Kaiden Schroeder. Schroeder was given the opportunity to suit up and take the field with his favorite college football team Saturday for a memorable experience few will forget.

Schroeder was diagnosed with lymphocytic leukemia in 2009 and on Saturday he lined up on the field and took a handoff 30 yards for a touchdown.

We have seen these moments a number of times in recent years, including this spring, and they just never get old. Reaching out to the community and giving a kid going through tougher battles than most can relate to is just simply the right thing to do.
