UW Huskies reinstate QB Miles as WR Stringfellow transfers

Washington was on the receiving end of some really good news Wednesday evening… and some not-so-good as well.

On the happy front, UW confirmed that quarterback Cyler Miles has been reinstated to the football program.   Miles was allegedly involved in a pair of assaults in early February, suspended from the team but never charged.

With Keith Price completing his collegiate career, Miles is being looked upon as the successor at the quarterback position. Miles served as Price‘s primary backup in 2013, playing in eight games and starting one in place of an injured Price.

While Miles missed all of spring practice, he will still be the favorite for the job when summer camp rolls around.

Wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow, on the other hand, has decided to transfer from the Huskies. Stringfellow was involved in the same incident that landed Miles in first-year head coach Chris Petersen‘s doghouse, although, unlike Miles, the receiver was charged for his role.

No reason was given for the decision, and it’s unclear whether this was merely a dismissal wrapped in a transfer flag.

In 2013, Stringfellow caught 20 passes for 259 yards. Prior to his arrest, Stringfellow was projected as a starting receiver.

Stringfellow was a four-star member of UW’s 2013 recruiting class coming out of high school in California.

Stringfellow is a beast. Bummer, but if you do the crime…
