Everybody knows Texas has a question at quarterback

Texas has three quarterbacks on the roster, but none seem to be a clear leader of the pack under new head coach Charlie Strong. Strong believes that and so to do the fans of the Longhorns. That was put on display during he latest stop in a bus tour to meet and greet alumni and fans Tuesday, when Strong discussed one of his biggest concerns about the 2014 Longhorns. Strong opened with his thoughts and paused to allow the crowd to fill in the blank in unison.

Per the Dallas Morning News;

Strong even played to the crowd as he began to break down his roster: “But I know this, the position everyone is concerned with is …”

On cue and in unison, the crowd responded: “Quarterback.”

Such is life in Austin right now for a program looking to get back on the national college football podium. The days of Vince Young and Colt McCoy already feel like a distant memory. David Ash may be considered the favorite for the job at the start of the season, just based on his previous experience under center at Texas, but can be an injury just waiting to happen. Ash played in just three games in 2013, in which he completed 53 of 87 pass attempts for 760 yards and seven touchdowns with two interceptions as a junior.

The Longhorns also have sophomore Tyrone Swoopes (13 pass attempts in 2013) and four-star quarterback, according to Rivals, Jerrod Heard.
