Yet another Duck twin flying out of Eugene

Earlier this week it was reported that Tyrell Robinson would be transferring from Oregon, although his twin brother, Tyree Robinson, will remain with the Ducks.

A handful of days later, it’s lather, rinse and repeat on the twin transfer front for UO.

Head coach Mark Helfrich confirmed to The Oregonian Thursday that defensive back Eric Amoako has decided to leave the football program and continue his playing career elsewhere. As is ofttimes the case, no specific reason was given for the decision to bolt.

“Eric asked for and received a release right after spring football,” Helfrich said. “We wish him all the best in pursuit of his educational and football goals.”

As was the case with the Robinsons, the redshirt sophomore’s twin brother, Stephen Amoako, is expected to remain with the Ducks.

The transferring Amoako was a three-star member of the Ducks’ 2012 recruiting class, rated as the No. 57 safety in the country. Amoako received offers from, among others, Kansas State, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Purdue coming out of high school in Arlington, Tex.

After redshirting as a true freshman, he played in just one game in 2013.
