Ohio, Marshall to renew rivalry game in 2019 and 2020

Ohio and Marshall’s rivalry game ended before it was cool (looking your way, Texas/Texas A&M and Mizzou/Kansas) way back in 2005, when Marshall left the MAC to join Conference USA. It was revived on a six-year deal in 2006, but with that deal expiring in 2015 there will be another break in the Battle for the Bell.

It was announced yesterday, though, that the series will re-start with a home-and-home in 2019 and 2020. Marshall will host the 2019 game and travel to Athens for the 2020 contest. Ohio leads the all-time series 32-19-6.

Now if only someday we could get more of these traditional non-conference rivalries scheduled…
