Report: Buckeyes’ Tracy Sprinkle arrested after bar brouhaha, suspended

Tracy Sprinkle

Apparently, one member of the Ohio State football program had too good of a time over the course of the holiday yesterday.

According to a report from ElevenWarriors.com, Buckeyes defensive lineman Tracy Sprinkle was arrested Friday and charged following an altercation at a local drinking establishment.  What the specific charge is the lineman will be facing and what actually led to the arrest are unclear at this point in time.

What is clear, though, is that, per the website, Sprinkle has been indefinitely suspended by the football program.  For what it’s worth, the athletic department has yet to publicly announce any type of punitive measures the player may be facing.

A three-star member of OSU’s 2013 recruiting class, Sprinkle was rated as the No. 24 strongside defensive end in the country.  After enrolling at the school early, Sprinkle took a redshirt his true freshman season.

UPDATED 6:06 p.m. ET: An OSU official has confirmed that Sprinkle was involved in an incident that led to an arrest but declined to comment on any suspension the player is facing.

Typical Buckeye. Dirty program with dirty players. Getting arrested will get him some serious cred with Urban and around Columbus.

Hopefully he just catches a minor w/alcohol or possessing a fake id charge.

If he was actually brawling rather than spectating with a red solo cup, that’s a whole ‘nother issue.

Urban meyer already suspended the kid and it hasn’t been 24 hours. It was just a bar fight. Why pile on OSU and its coach? Jealosy.

Yes, manik. We are all jealous. We secretly wish all the players for our teams would get arrested in bar fights.

  10. eidolon21 says: Jul 5, 2014 9:25 PM

drug dealing felon. If Urban can keep him out of prison he will start

  11. isphet71 says: Jul 5, 2014 9:51 PM

OSU doesn’t have much of a reputation to uphold, they just want to win. He will play this year if they can figure out a way to spin it.

Heroin is NOT involved according to statements from Law Enforcement.

And stop with the Urban/criminal players nonsense. Scroll down cfb and you’ll see that the majority of schools deal with player arrests-not just Urban.

Urb will hold bible study to get the problems fixed. It worked at Florida, just ask Aaron Hernandez, if he is allowed a phone call…

He gets in a fight and you losers are freaking out and bashing the 19 year old, the coach, and the school? This is a non story, move along.

Comments like “The penitentiary university.” and “Typical Buckeye. Dirty program with dirty players. Getting arrested will get him some serious cred with Urban and around Columbus.” are so predictable. This website should just post them right away on any similar story. No originality just bashing. So many children post on NBC sports blogs.

Immediately suspended. If he played for an S$c school, or missagain he would be a practice right now.

  19. maxwellsaz says: Jul 6, 2014 5:03 PM

All Buckeye fans and supporters hope that this young man becomes focused on doing the right things and graduates with a degree from this fine university. It doesn’t really matter what school someone attends; the goal is to do your very best and succeed. Coach Urban will steer him in the proper direction. If it is not at OSU then perhaps another school where this person can thrive .

See? Some Ohio State fans resort to name-calling and taunts too! Don’t complain about the earlier posts if you’re going to do the same thing.

Lol he will be suspended for navy, kent state, and Cincinnati. Everyone knows how The Corrupt State University operates.

  22. revrn2 says: Jul 7, 2014 9:49 AM

So easy to leave a bash on ohio, but everyone in the country knows meyer does NOT run a clean program and never has. Don’t worry he’ll be kept out of the big ohio games: state blind academy, et al. Be back just in the nick of time for real games.
Nobody is mentioning that he is 19 and legal drinking age is 21 even in ohio. Except for the 3.2 junk. Yuck.

JT…. brouhaha… really? It’s time to dust off the old “kerfuffle”…. You and I both know that it is the king of all words “conflict”…
