LSU’s Tiger Stadium voted best stadium in the land

Furman v LSU

Which college football stadium is the best in the country? Is your response based purely on fandom or which stadium has the loudest environment? Does seating capacity matter to you, or is it more about the gameday atmosphere surrounding the stadium as well?

LSU’s Tiger Stadium came out on top of a recent panel vote collected by Athlon Sports.¬†As a full disclaimer, I was one of the responding panelists for the vote. On a 15-person panel, LSU appeared on 13 ballots, including seven first-place votes, and it appeared in the top two on 11 of the ballots.

Ohio State’s Ohio Stadium was ranked second by the panel, and Oregon’s Autzen Stadium came in third. Kyle Field at Texas A&M is ranked fourth, just ahead of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium. You can see the full top ten ranking on Athlon Sports.

Which stadium is at the top of your list?

I remember when we beat LSU in the shoe….so many great memories in that building. And then there was MSU in 1998.

That’s a pretty good top 10, although I’m surprised Clemson didn’t sneak in. The Big House was one of many on my college fball stadium bucket list, but I’ve had so many people tell me what a letdown it was that I’ve dropped it in favor of some others.

Big buck. Remember manhandling a slow and weak ohio state team in a national championship game. GEAUX TIGERS

From a fans perspective there is nothing better than Tiger Stadium on a Saturday Night, hands down.

Sorry, Tiger Stadium is a P.O.S.

This isn’t taking anything away from their atmosphere—which, having lived in Tallahassee, Tuscaloosa, and Baton Rouge–is good (but it doesn’t compare to Bama on game day).

However, the stadium is a complete P.O.S.

Actually what I remember was a poor Ohio State team that had all 5 teams in front of it lose, putting it in the NC game. A game that we actually did fairly well in and were making a run until we handed LSU a first down on a roughing the punter call.

Best stadiums I have been in are Clemson, LSU, Washington, Georgia, Auburn.

I also like Arizona State but that’s more of a personal thing.

I don’t know the answer to the question, which stadium is best. But I do know the answer to whether or not everyone will agree on just one. Give you a hint: it won’t be “yes”.

    Your crimson is showing…

I’ve been to both LSU and Alabama on game day and your dead wrong. The stadiums are on equal footing but Bama can’t even come close to the atmosphere in Tiger stadium!!!
