Updated Bovada championship odds: FSU, ‘Bama, Oregon remain favorites

NCAA Tourney Draws Fans To Las Vegas Gambling House

Florida State remains the odds-on favorite to win the national championship in 2014, despite history suggesting that banking on a repeat national title is unwise. Bovada has released updated national championship odds and the defending national champion Seminoles remain in front of the pack.

Florida State is listed at 11/2 on the updated odds, with Alabama right behind with 6/1 odds. The top four national championship favorites based off of these odds may come as a slight surprise if you compared to the odds given for teams to make the four-team College Football Playoff in late May. Florida State, Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State had the four best betting odds to reach the new mini-playoff format, but the updated odds to actually win the national championship see Auburn (9/1), who lost to Florida State in the 2014 BCS National Championship Game, slip past Ohio State (10/1).

Here are the top favorites based on the updated Bovada betting odds, as well as some other notable odds worth mentioning.

Florida State, 11/2

Alabama, 6/1

Oregon, 8/1

Auburn, 9/1

Ohio State, 10/1

Oklahoma, 12/1

Georgia, 16/1

UCLA, 16/1

LSU, 18/1

Michigan State, 25/1

South Carolina, 25/1

USC, 25/1

Baylor, 28/1

Stanford, 33/1

Wisconsin, 33/1

Other notable odds

Notre Dame, 40/1

Texas, 40/1

Michigan, 50/1

Nebraska, 50/1

Clemson, 66/1

The Heisman odds were released by Bovada in late January.

It’s possible, and in fact ‘Bama would have likely gotten in this past season despite losing to Auburn on the “Kick Six.”
