Dashcam video of Nick Marshall’s pot citation released

Another day, another development in the Nick Marshall “situation.”

Auburn’s starting quarterback was cited -- not arrested -- late last week for possession of marijuana. Although head coach Gus Malzahn stated his disappointment in the player’s actions, he declined to say at the SEC Media Days Monday if Marshall would be subject to any type of punishment, up to and including a suspension for the 2014 season opener against Arkansas (unlikely).

Tuesday, a Columbus, Ga., television stations obtained dashcam footage of the traffic stop that led to the citation and posted it online. In the video that’s nearly three minutes in length, you see the initial stop, Marshall speaking to police officers, Marshall being handcuffed, and finally Marshall getting back into his vehicle with a piece of paper in his hands.

What it didn’t catch is Marshall being “teary-eyed” or “very regretful” -- the latter because there is no audio -- as the officer who initiated his stop stated in the police report.
