A young member of Tennessee’s receiving corps won’t see the field at all in 2014 due to injury.

According to the Associated Press, Cody Blanc suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon recently and will miss the entire season.  Blanc incurred the injury during the first day of summer camp this past Friday.

Head coach Butch Jones confirmed the severity of the injury Tuesday.

Blanc has played in 21 games in his two seasons in Knoxville, starting one of those contests.  The lone reception of his career came last season against Alabama, and covered 43 yards.

Hate it for the young man. Best wishes and hurry back. Thankfully this is a position with depth for the Vols.
