Stunner: Devonte Fields reportedly leaving TCU for Stephen F. Austin

It did not take very long for Devonte Fields to find a new football home, it seems. Afer word got out a day earlier Fields would not be returning to TCU in 2014, he has reportedly stated he will be transferring to FCS Stephen F. Austin.

It has been quite the offseason for one of the Big 12’s top defensive players. Last month Fields was connected to an alleged domestic incident involving his ex-girlfriend, in which he was accused of pointing a gun at the woman before allegedly punching her in the face. From there, TCU released a statement confirming they were separating from Fields while the legal process played out. Fields later surrendered, but no files were charged while an investigation was ongoing.

As Fields attempted to sort through all of this, he met with TCU officials to discuss his future this week, and the path has now been set. Fields will clearly by a huge addition to the defensive line for Stephen F. Austin, but for now Fields will have to sort through much more important issues moving forward.

And that’s the bottom line...
