Otha Peters opts to leave Razorbacks

A once-promising career has turned into a parting of ways for one member of Arkansas’ defense.

In a tweet Monday evening, head coach Bret Bielema announced that linebacker Otha Peters has decided to transfer from the Razorbacks.  No reason was given for the departure, nor was there any word as to where the Louisiana native may end up.

“We will assist with the process to find a new home moving forward. Wishing him the best!” Bielema wrote in the tweet.

A four-star member of UA’s 2012 recruiting class, Peters was rated as the No. 6 inside linebacker in the country. After playing in 10 games in 2012 as a true freshman — starting the last three of that season — Peters was limited to just seven in 2013 in an injury-plagued season.

He had entered summer camp No. 2 on the depth chart at middle linebacker.

And he had fallen to at best #3 on depth chart. Multiple players all younger than him have overtaken him on the depth chart.
