Dismissed Longhorn Collins moves on to JUCO

Chevoski Collins

One of the handful of Texas Longhorns given the boot by first-year head coach Charlie Strong has found a landing spot at a much lower level of football.

In a conversation with the Austin American-Statesman Wednesday, Chevoski Collins confirmed that he will play in the JUCU ranks in 2014.  The defensive back’s specific destination will be the Navarro College Bulldogs in Corsicana, Tex.

Because Navarro is a JUCO program, Collins will be eligible to play immediately in 2014. The Livingston, Tex., native hopes to return to the FBS level in 2015.

A three-star member of UT’s 2013 recruiting class, Collins was rated as the No. 37 athlete in the country and the No. 67 player at any position in the state of Texas.

Navarro College is a junior college, not a member of the FCS.
