UCLA WR released from hospital, set to return to team

Fortunately, what was initially a dire-sounding situation has turned out in a positive fashion for a UCLA Bruin.

Citing a person familiar with the situation, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that  wide receiver Devin Lucien was released from the hospital very late Tuesday night.  Lucien suffered some type of head injury during practice, prompting the Bruins to call for paramedics.

The receiver was subsequently taken to the hospital via an ambulance.

The Times also reports that Lucien is expected to return to the team, although it’s unclear if he’ll participate in practice during the late session.  The Bruins also have an early-morning session Wednesday.

In 2013, Lucien caught 19 passes for 339 yards.  Entering summer camp, he was expected to lock down one of the starting jobs at his position.
