Texas Tech locks in Class of 2015 QB Stidham with financial aid agreement

Texas Tech scored a pretty nice quarterback recruit with Jarrett Stidham offering his verbal commitment to Kliff Kingsbury back in March. Rather than take a chance and hope that commitment holds through the next signing day, Texas Tech and Stidham made sure to get things rolling early by having the Class of 2015 quarterback sign a financial aid agreement today.

Stidham signed the agreement and shared the news via Twitter, because that is how it gets done these days.

Stidham should begin competing right away for a starting job at Texas Tech. By enrolling in the spring, Stidham will have a chance to get a jump start on his collegiate career by learning the playbook, going through the training and workouts and participating in the spring football schedule. Considering the concerns over the depth under center this season, Stidham should have the potential to grab a hold of the position’s starting job as early as the spring if all goes well.
