FSU WR Isaiah Jones declared academically ineligible

Isaiah Jones

Expected to be one of the players who could potentially replace the production lost with Kelvin Benjamin‘s departure, Isaiah Jones will instead spend the next few months getting his academic house in order.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher confirmed that, via a tweet from Natalie Pierre of the Tallahassee Democrat, “Isaiah Jones is academically ineligible and unable to compete for the [Seminoles] this season.” The wide receiver will, though, be able to practice with the football team.

Jones will also remain enrolled at FSU and is still attending classes.

A four-star member of the Seminoles’ 2013 recruiting class, rated as the No. 28 receiver in the country and the No. 36 player at any position in the talent-rich state of Florida. As a true freshman last season, Jones caught two passes for 312 yard.

A foot injury cost the 6-4, 198-pound Jones the second half of his initial season in Tallahassee.

A shame that these kids have talent galore and the most fruitful of opportunities yet squander their blessings by not upholding to their academic responsibilities…

Gotta keep those priorities in order….

This wouldn’t happen in the $EC. They’d change the records to make him look like a rocket scientist to keep him eligible.

As someone who follows my school pretty closely…

Who is Isaiah Jones??? I’ve heard about Rudolph, Lane, them trying Harris in the slot, Scooter Higgins coming back this year, and maybe just maybe Christian Green finally lives up to his talent.

But never heard of Isaiah Jones. I guess they really are that loaded.

Who is Isiah Jones? Only the only player to ever take the ball to the house from the goal line, turn around and run back to his goal line and then score from there.

Yes Mr.Wright, next man up…This is the goal of most college players, to get on the field so you can carry on your pathetic existence…

mcjon22: Isaiah Jones is a tall receiver they were hoping might come in and fill a bit of the void left by Kelvin.

He’d never been consistent, he had been buried on the depth chart, and had fallen behind the two freshman wr studs we brought in this year.

    It’s no big loss…
