Texas WR Shipley questionable due to head injury

There may not be another team that has been beat up and depleted around the country than the Texas Longhorns. Wide receiver Jaxon Shipley is the latest Longhorn player to get banged up during last week’s loss to BYU. A head injury suffered last week will reportedly leave Shipley questionable for this weekend’s game in Arlington against UCLA.

Through two games this season, Shipley is second on the team with 11 receptions for 79 yards and 33 punt return yards. Shipley was second on the Longhorns in 2013 with 589 yards and a touchdown. Leading up to the start of the season Shipley was slowed down in practices due to a hamstring issue.

Quarterback David Ash is also out indefinitely while he focuses on his own head injury concerns. Ash missed most of the 2013 season due to concussion problems, and they resurfaced after taking a hit in the season opener against North Texas. Ash did not dress for last weekend’s game against BYU and now his future is up in the air because of the health concerns.
