Monday, Brady Hoke stated that a decision on whether starter Devin Gardner or backup Shane Morris would be under center for Michigan’s game Saturday against Minnesota would be made Tuesday.
24 hours later? Forget about it. Pretend it never happened.
At least publicly, the Wolverines head coach reversed course during a teleconference very early this afternoon, stating that he and his coaching staff aren’t prepared to announce a starter right now. Whether Hoke and his assistants know who will start and don’t want to divulge it publicly, and give the Gophers a heads up in the process, is unclear.
What is clear is that everybody outside of the football program will have to wait until later on in the week to see if Hoke pulls the trigger on a change and goes with Morris or sticks with the struggling Gardner.

The fact that Hoke isn’t deciding now would tend to make one think that he’s leaning toward the status quo with Gardner. Or, at least, it’s making some think that way.
The fact Brady Hoke hasn't named a QB makes me think it will remain Devin Gardner. If it's Shane Morris, need to get Gardner WR reps, right?

Regardless of who ultimately starts this weekend, it’s highly doubtful we’ve heard the last of the quarterback questions in Ann Arbor.
