Somewhat forgotten amidst Alabama’s upset loss at the hands of Ole Miss was a horrific and gruesome injury to one member of its talented stable of running backs.
Very early in the second quarter if the loss, Kenyan Drake went down with what looked like at the time and was later diagnosed as a broken leg. Drake, whose screams of pain were audible on the broadcast, was in tears as he was taken off the field on a cart.
As if there was any doubt to those who had witnessed it, Drake will miss the remainder of the season. He will also undergo surgery in short order.
On Twitter late Sunday morning, the junior expressed his appreciation for the support he’s received.
I appreciate all of the love & support via texts, calls & social media. I can't begin to explain how thankful I am. God bless & Roll Tide
