Bob Stoops not pleased with OU CB Zack Sanchez’s show of support for suspended teammate

Cornerback Zack Sanchez returned an interception for a touchdown in Oklahoma’s 31-26 win over Texas, but that wasn’t the only statement the sophomore made Saturday.

Written on a headband under a helmet was a message that contained the name of Frank Shannon, an Oklahoma linebacker suspended for the year after the school found him in violation of the school’s Title IX sexual misconduct policy.

“I don’t like that,” Stoops told the Oklahoman. “I stand by the university and what we’ve done. So that’ll be addressed.”

I did not have “Free Frank Shannon” on my headband , it said BTP Frank shannon , BTP means Big time players makin big time plays ..

Hate to break this to you Mr. Sanchez, but I don’t think your head coach is all that interested in the specifics here. And while he was at it, Sanchez confirmed that he did not have a message for transfer quarterback Baker Mayfield either.

I also DID NOT have “Free BM” under my eyes for Baker , it was Free RM , for my big Kuzzin .Baker is my dawg but it had nuthin to do wit him

“Nothing team-related is to be made public,” Stoops said. “That’s the same on Twitter, same on any social media — and I would regard (Sanchez’s headband) as social media. Team matters need to be with us. Period.”
