Hogs likely without second-leading tackler vs. Dawgs

As Arkansas looks to bounce-back from its close loss to Alabama, it’ll have to do so without a key piece of its defensive puzzle.

Monday, Bret Bielema confirmed that Brooks Ellis suffered what was described as “a pretty significant bone bruise” this past Saturday. While the head coach left the door slightly ajar for a quick return, WholeHogSports.com wrote that the linebacker “will likely be out a while.”

Part of that while almost certainly means being sidelined for the home game against Georgia Saturday.

Ellis’ 39 tackles are currently second on the team to Martrell Spaight‘s 53. His 3.5 tackles for loss are good for fourth.

If Ellis is the no-go it seems likely he’ll be, Josh Williams would be expected to get the starting nod. It would mark Williams’ first career start.
