Wyoming suspends second-leading rusher

Saturday’s Gameday for most FBS players, but it won’t be for one member of the Wyoming football program.

In a press release, first-year Cowboys head coach Craig Bohl announced that running back D.J. Mays has been suspended for today’s game against San Jose State. The reason given was, as expected, an unspecified violation of team rules.

It’s unclear from the release if this is merely a one-game suspension or if it will drag into Week 9.

Through six games, Mays is second on the team with 260 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
