Big Ten admits Ohio State should have been penalized on controversial field goal

I don’t know if Penn State head coach James Franklin has a dog, but if he does it undoubtedly got an earful about Big Ten officials last night.

The Big Ten already admitted technical issues were to blame in Vonn Bell‘s interception that wasn’t but still somehow was.

Now the league has said an Ohio State field goal that came well after the play clock had expired should, obviously, have been flagged.

B1G statement to http://t.co/Y2XYMmBcNU admits “breakdown in officiating mechanics” on Ohio State FG. Proper ruling should have been penalty

Despite the fact that Stevie Wonder could have seen that was an obvious penalty, the field goal stood because, somehow, that situation is not reviewable.

Thanks in large part to those two missed calls, No. 13 Ohio State built a 17-0 halftime lead and held on to beat Penn State 31-24 in double overtime.
