Gator DT Leon Orr takes bus home after being told he wouldn’t start

A weird situation has resulted in Florida’s depth along the defensive line taking a hit on the day of its game against Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Leonard Orr, who had not started the past six games at defensive tackle, was informed earlier today that he would be making it seven straight coming off the bench tonight. Orr, though, was still expected to be a significant part of the Gators’ line rotation.

That apparently wasn’t good enough for the fifth-year senior, who, the school wrote on its official website, “opted to leave the team and return to Gainesville on a bus.”

Said head coach Will Muschamp, “He was more concerned with starting than being part of the team.”

Orr had started two games earlier this season, and 10 in his career.
