Reports: LSU starting CB Robinson suspended for Bama game

Facing a do-or-die scenario to remain within earshot of an SEC West title, LSU’s secondary apparently won’t be at full strength Saturday night.

While the school has yet to announce it, Both the Baton Rouge Advocate and New Orleans Times-Picayune are reporting a handful of hours before the 8 E.T. kickoff that Rashard Robinson has been suspended for the game against Alabama. What led to the suspension is unknown.

Citing a source, the Advocate wrote that “Robinson has missed all or most of this past week’s practice” for unspecified reasons.

Should the suspension come to fruition, it’d be the cornerback’s second this season. Prior to the season opener, Robinson was benched for the game against Wisconsin for violating unspecified team rules.

Robinson had started the last six games for the Tigers. A four-star member of the Tigers’ 2013 recruiting class, Robinson started two of the 12 games in which he played as a true freshman last season.

With Robinson apparently out, he’ll likely be replaced by junior Jalen Collins in the starting lineup. Collins has started three games in 2014 and six in his career.
