Trevor Knight will miss a second game for Sooners

Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight will miss this week’s contest against Kansas. Sooners head coach Bob Stoops, when not slamming the door shut on Florida coaching rumors, said Monday his starting quarterback will miss a second straight game this week as a result of a neck injury.

Knight injured his neck in the fourth quarter of a recent game against Baylor. Knight was taken off the field on a stretcher and sat out this past weekend’s game against Texas Tech. It is undetermined at this time whether or not Knight will be available for the annual Bedlam game against Oklahoma State, but it is always best to play it safe when it comes to college football injuries.

With Knight not available, Oklahoma will continue forward with Cody Thomas as the starting quarterback. Thomas started for the Sooners against Texas Tech and passed for 133 yards and rushed for 103 yards. Thomas helped lead a rally against the Red Raiders once he got going and felt comfortable.
