OSU’s J.T. Barrett sustains injury to right leg, carted off

There are serious injuries, and then there’s what Ohio State may be forced to deal with moving forward.

On the first play of the fourth quarter of OSU’s game against Michigan, starting quarterback and Heisman contender J.T. Barrett went down with what appeared to be a very significant injury to his lower right leg. Barrett was bent over backwards by a Wolverine defender and his leg became pinned.

After having an air cast applied to his leg, Barrett was taken off the field on a cart for further evaluation. While there’s no official word from the team, it appears Barrett will not return.

Prior to that, though, there was a class move from one quarterback to another.

Barrett, presumably for the remainder of the game and very likely the Big Ten championship game, has been replaced by Cardale Jones. With just under 13 minutes remaining, OSU is up 28-21.
