Tulane CB Lorenzo Doss off early to the NFL

The wave of eligible players cannonballing into the draft pool continues, with Tulane the latest to lose a player to early-entry.

On, of course, his Twitter account, Lorenzo Doss wrote that "[a]fter talking with my family, friends, and coaches, I have decided to forgo my senior season and enter the 2015 NFL Draft.” According to the Baton Rouge Advocate, Doss is the first Green Wave player to enter the draft early since defensive back Lynaris Elpheage did it following the 2002 season.

NFL draftniks view the true-junior Doss as a mid-round draft pick, although that could go up or down depending on how he performs at the Scouting Combine as well as individual workouts.

After becoming a starter midway through his first season with the Green Wave in 2012, Doss started 34 straight games. He was first-team All-Conference USA in 2013 and second-team All-AAC in 2014.

His 15 career interceptions are second all-time in the football program’s history and the second-most among all active players.
