Well, at least as far as the SEC defensive coordinator searches go, this is certainly an interesting development.
In the days and weeks after he was unofficially then officially fired as Florida’s head coach, Will Muschamp‘s name was connected to coordinator jobs at Texas A&M, Auburn and South Carolina. He was also mentioned as a possibility at Florida State if Jimbo Fisher decided to go in another direction.
As it turns out, its Muschamp himself who might go in another direction and hop right back up on that head-coaching horse.

It’s been thought that, since Tony Levine was relieved of his duties less than a week ago, Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman was arguably the leading candidate. Muschamp’s name reportedly being in the mix is certainly noteworthy, if for nothing more than Muschamp and Herman couldn’t be more opposite when it comes to both personality and football expertise.
It could also explain the reason why Muschamp is waiting for, in the words of Steve Spurrier, “everything to settle down.”
